The Best Places To Visit In Italy

The beautiful city of Matera was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993 and is one of the best sights in Italy. Do not miss the beautiful town of Spello, whose narrow streets full of flowers harbor ancient Roman walls, an impressive castle and the Roman aqueduct of Spoleto. Citta Alta, one of the most splendid old towns in the area, is a true jewel of Lombardy, often overlooked by travellers heading for Lake Como and Garda, which adorn the streets of Milan.

Beautiful streets, breathtaking architecture and the medieval Ponte Vecchio Bridge make Florence one of Italy’s best places, especially if you are visiting for the first time the city. One of the most beautiful cities I think worth mentioning is Verona. The town of Romeo and Juliet, or Verona is one of those places that deserve more visitors if you want it to retain its local character and welcoming atmosphere.

Venice is one of the most touristy cities in Europe and a good choice if you want to spend a weekend and get more out of Italy. Umbria and beautiful Tuscany are a must for tourists and full of breathtaking mountain villages, magnificent churches and picturesque countryside.

There is much to see and do in Umbria, and everything is compact enough to enjoy a long weekend in the region while still visiting a few cities and attractions. In my opinion Matera is much more interesting than many of the more popular cities, and that’s why I included it in my list of Italy’s best spots to visit. Also known as Stone City, it is one of the most remote tourist destinations in the remote southern region of Basilicata.

The historic island of Sicily is the largest island of the Mediterranean and has the aforementioned history, stunning beaches, good food and one of the most active volcanoes in the world, Mount Etna. Some great accommodations on the island are the capital Palermo on the east coast, and a great base for exploring the island is Cefalu. Others are on holiday in the southern city of Catania, which lies on the volcano’s plain.

Emilia-Romagna is probably the best in Italy, but one that many tourists rarely visit. If you want to discover a more authentic side of the country, consider visiting at least a few places in the region. There are also lesser-known, picturesque coastal towns such as Portovenere and Sestri Levante.

Italy is the place where beautiful cities can be found, picturesque villages, mighty mountains such as paradise, beaches, art, archaeological sites and the like. It is also the country with the highest concentration of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, wonderful food and even better wine. There is so much to offer that I could not summarize all the sights in Italy in one post and it would take a lifetime to visit them all. To help you plan your stay, I have compiled a list of 20 of Italy’s best things to do, listing some of the places you should visit.

Italy is one of my favorite destinations in Europe with so many beautiful cities, a rich history, breathtaking landscapes, beautiful Mediterranean islands and of course delicious food. I have started this list with 20 of the best things to do in Italy, highlighting some of the must-see attractions, especially in the capital, Rome. The first choice, and I think the one you should visit for the first time in Italy, is Rome.

Italy is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world and it is no wonder why. Rome is a vast complex of a city dotted with more than 2,000 years of ruins, relics and memories and is in our opinion one of the most fascinating places to visit in Italy and around the world. The country of Italy is known for its rolling hills, golden lights, beautiful vineyards, charming villages and hot springs. It has been one of the most popular places in Italy for centuries, and for good reason.

One of the best places in Italy is the island of Sicily. The beautiful island of Sardinia receives fewer non-European and non-Italian visitors than the coastal towns of Amalfi or the coast of the Cinque Terre, which is a pity since it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in Italy. Sardinia is definitely one of those places on your wish list if you are looking for a destination that combines picturesque beaches, historical sites and outdoor adventure opportunities.
